Battle for consistency trophy

WORKS Black teammates David Bates and Bruce Lockley are locked in a tense battle for this year's billiards roster consistency trophy.

As well as trying to keep their top-of-the-ladder team in first place heading into the finals, they are both on nine wins for the season with four matches remaining.

Bates achieved his nine wins from 11 matches, while Lockley has played 12. Dean Wilson and Rolf Stevenson are in third place with eight wins, followed by Glen Johansen, Steve Leary, Josh Rainbow, Derek peart and Wayne Purdon on seven wins.

LAST year's Northern billiards premier Works Green and bottom team Works Blue were the big winners this week with both teams scoring 4-0 wins, against Longford RSL and Works Gold respectively.

The Green team has moved to third and on form looks set to give this year's finals series a real shake.

The other team showing good late-season form is the Flaming Devils, which scored 3-1 over Navy to move to a clear second on the ladder.
