Longford RSL sinks Works Navy to underline roster dominance
Wayne Purdon (245) beat Ray Skinner (275), Adrian White (150) beat Warren Hayes (280) and Graeme Purdon (325) beat Alan Legge (260).
For Navy, Phil Page (260) beat Greg Williams (270).
Works Gold whitewashed last year's premier, Works Green, 4-0. Steve Leary (265) beat Dean Wilson (280), John Fraser (205) beat Dallas Fry, Rolf Stevenson (265) beat George Zammit (275) and John Stevenson (275) beat Glen Johansen (270).
The Flaming Devils, after forfeiting one match, drew with Exeter RSL. Josh Rainbow (315) defeated Rex Swain (180) and Andrew Rainbow (275) beat Derek Peart (285). For Exeter RSL, Adam Bindoff (300) defeated Heath Rainbow (280).
Works Red drew with Works Blue in their match on Thursday night. For Red, Alan Armitage (240) defeated Hans Georgeiff (270) and Barry Glover (260) beat Michael Bracey. For Blue, Graeme Pickett (-125) beat Keith Coomber (165) and Michael Leslie (230) beat Phil Rowbottom (275).
Works Black had this week's bye.

The Australian eightball championships concluded in Adelaide on Thursday night.
Victoria won both the open and women's teams events, beating South Australia 17-9 in the open and ACT in the women's 13-6.
Elise Mabbott (SA) won the women's singles final, beating Victorian Marg Gorski 9-4, and in the open singles Brenton Collier, of South Australia, beat Steve Mifsud, of Victoria, 10-8.
The Masters singles was won by Russell Youlten (SA), beating Jim Rene (Vic) 8-5, and Victoria won the Masters teams final, beating South Australia 5-4.

Devils shot down in flames by Longford
Wayne Purdon (250) beat Heath Rainbow (275), Adrian White (155) beat Roydyn Bishop (135) and Greg Williams (275) beat Wally Sully (255).
Josh Rainbow (320) was Devils' only winner, beating Graeme Purdon (320).
Works Navy retained second spot on the billiards ladder, drawing with Works Gold 2-2 in their match on Thursday night.
Alan Legge (265) defeated Steve Leary (260) and Warren Hayes (285) defeated John Fraser (200).
For Gold, Gary Bjarnoe- Elliott (145) beat Phil Page (255) and Rolf Stevenson (270) defeated John Fordham (280).
Works Red had a 3-1 win over Works Green in their match on Wednesday night, Barry Glover (260) defeated George Zammit (270), Keith Coomber (170) defeated David Thompson (300) and Phil Rowbottom (275) defeated Lee Morcom (240).
Glen Johansen (275) was Green's only winner, defeating Peter Seaman (285).
The match between Exeter RSL and Works Black has been held over due to the unavailability of some Black players competing in the Australian eightball championships in Adelaide.
Works Blue had this week's bye.

8Ball Championships
The Australian eightball championships, under way in Adelaide, are due to conclude tomorrow with the open, women's and masters teams events and also the singles events in each section.
Launceston-based player and Tasmanian women's team captain Fiona Plumber made it through to the last eight but unfortunately was defeated by Marg Gorski, of Victoria, 7-2.
Marcus Jackson, of Hobart, was defeated in the last 16 of the open singles.
