The Open State Team for 2011 was decided at the Launceston Workers Club on July 16th and 17th with 24 players from the North, South and North-West competing for 9 positions to make up the 2011 State team to compete at the Australian Championships in October from the 17th - 28th
The weekend saw some old and new faces make the team, with Launceston player Andrew Saltmarsh making the team from the North, our other players finished in the following positions Troy Rudling (13th), Bruce Lockley (14th) and Alex Brooks (equal 16th)
The final team is - Anthony Adams (State Singles Champion), Justin Van Dipen (32 wins 14 Loses), Marcus Jackson 31 - 15, Trent Brooks 30 - 16, Andrew Saltmarsh 30 - 16, Andrew Triffitt 29 - 17, Dallas Nichols 28 - 18, Chris Forsyth 28 - 18, Joel Smith 27 - 19, Cale Barrett 26 - 20

Round 2 June 25th and 26th
The final round of the State Open Team (Northern Qulaifyers) was held on June 25th and 26th at the Launceston Workers Club with North-West players Callan Bissett finishing on top followed by Gerrad Wicks
From the NTEBA - Andrew Saltmarsh finished in 3rd position along with Bruce Lockley (5th), Alex Brooks (6th) and Troy Rudling (13th)
From the Northern Qualifiers 14 players will now progress through to the State Open Team Play-Off to be played at the LWC on July 16th and 17th, these 14 players will be joined by 9 players from the Southern Qualifiers and David Lee as winner of the State Calacutta that was held in April

Round 1 May 28th and 29th
Round 1 of the 2011 State Open Team (Northern Qualifiers) was held at the weekend at the Launceston Workers Club, with top young snooker player from the North-West Coast Callan Bissett leading the way followed by Gerrad Wicks and Cale Barrett also from the North-West, the nex player from the North is the ever-green Andrew Saltmarsh followed by a string of players in position 5 to 16 tied with 14 wins and 13 losses, full results can be found on this link or via the Eightball Tasmania web site
