Interclub Billiards.

Works Navy were the only winners, in a week of closely fought Billiard matches. Navy beat Works Red 3-1, to leap-frog Geen to seventh position on the ladder. Ben Conrades, Phil Page and John Fordham were Navy’s winners, Captain Phil Rowbottom scored for the Red team.

All other matches were drawn with no impact on the ladder positions. Works teams, Blue, Black and Gold, together with Launceston RSL White share top position on 28 points with Blue leading on percentage.

Works Black drew 2-2 with Works Raiders, David Bates and Scott Kopriva won for Black, Barry Glover and Lionel Young on for the Raiders. Lionel Young’s win takes him to the top of the player rankings having now won 5 of the six matches played.

The Flaming Devils drew 2-2 with Blue, Andrew Rainbow kept his good season going, beating Peter Donati, Roydyn Bishop also won for the Devils. Graeme Pickett made up 355 points to win his match, Ethan Brown also won for Blue.

Launceston RSL White drew 2-2 with Works Gold, Adrian White and Wayne Purdon won for the RSL, John Saggers and John Fraser won for Gold.

At the Exeter Club, the home team won the first two matches with Adam Bindoff and Rex Swain winning, however the Works Green team evened the score with a win to Cor Zoon and a forfeit to Lee Morcom.

Works Blue 28 (58.06%), Works Gold, Works Black and RSL White all 28 and a percentage of 56.25, Raiders and Devils 25, Works Navy 24  Works Green 23, Works Red 16, Exeter Social Club 14.

Leading Players:  Lionel Young takes the lead in the player stats, winning 5 matches from 6 played, 83%, George Zammit’s having lost his last two matches drops to second, 6 from 8 at 75%, followed by Dennis Collins and Andrew Rainbow, 5 wins from 7 matches played. Derek Peart, Wayne Purdon, David Bates and Heath Rainbow have won 5 from 8 played. Zane Brown is still at 4 from 4, Scott Kopriva has 4 wins from 5 played.

Exeter Social Club 2, drew with Works Green 2, Rex Swain (205) defeated George Zammit (240), Derek Peart (275) lost to Cor Zoon (305), Adam Bindoff (305) defeated Dean Wilson (240). Green’s Lee Morcom (255) won on Forfeit.
