PERTH Black proved too strong for new team Launceston Workers Club Breakers at the Launceston Workers Club on Saturday.

With more than 150 people in attendance, Perth won the 2011 premier league title 8-3.
This gives it three grand final wins in the past four years, after being defeated in last year's final.

In division 1, the Mowbray Hotel also headed back to the premiership dais, defeating the Duke of Wellington team 8-4.

Division 2 saw Sunny Hill Blue defeat the Village Inn Red team from the St Leonards hotel 8-5, and in division 3 the TRC Hotel claimed back-to- back premierships by defeating the Sunny Hill delinquents team 8-2.

The 2011-12 summer roster starts on October 11, and teams can nominate via the website www.nteba. com.au.

THE Flaming Devils clinched the minor premiership in A grade snooker, winning 3-1 against Works Blue.

Andrew Rainbow (2-0), Shane Franklin (2-1) and Heath Rainbow (2-1) won for the Devils, while Peter Donati (2-1) was Blue's only winner.

The Devils sit two points clear of Works Black, which has the bye in this week's final home-and-away round.

Works Black will hold second after drawing 2-2 with Works Gold. Bruce Lockley (2-0) and Andrew Saltmarsh (2-0) won for Black, while Trevor Leary (2-0) and John Fraser (2-0) were Gold's winners.

Exeter, last year's premier, beat Launceston RSL Grey 3-1 at Exeter. However, it cannot make the finals and will finish in sixth place.

Gary Bakker (2-1) and Ben Swain (2-0) won for Exeter. Robin McEnnulty (2-0) was the RSL Grey team's only winner, which means it will hold the wooden spoon for 2011.

Five players are still in contention for the A grade consistency trophy.

Exeter's Ben Swain, Works Blue teammates Peter Donati and Michael Leslie, Devils' Andrew Rainbow and Raiders' Keith Coomber will be watching the results with interest.

In A reserve, Works Green and the Green Horns are still vying for the minor premiership and a bye in the first week of the finals.

Green is two points clear after a 6-6 draw with Amber. Andrew Thomas won for Green, while Adam Gurr was Amber's winner.

The Green Horns beat Navy 7-5. Tony Quach, Zane Brown and Shane Franklin won for the Green Horns and Philip Page and Steve Collins for Navy.

Exeter continued its late climb up the ladder, defeating RSL White 7-5. John Waters and Derek Peart both won for Exeter, while Adrian White was RSL's only winner.
