WORKS Black was this week's big winner, defeating reigning premier Exeter RSL Black 3-1 in their A grade interclub snooker match at the Workers Club.

Works Black, the minor premier last year, has had a slow start to the 2011 season, scoring just eight points from five matches.

The return of Bruce Lockley from travel overseas, and the return to snooker form for David Bates - who knocked in a break of 54 to add to his best break of 58, the highest this season - have re- ignited its season.

Works Blue drew with ladder-leaders Works Raiders, and Launceston RSL Grey drew with the Flaming Devils.

In A reserve, all matches were drawn:

•Works Amber 6, Launceston RSL White 6. John Saggers for Amber and Graeme Purdon for White were the only winners.

•Works Red 6, Works Green Horns 6. Robbie Johns and Alan Armitage won for Red, and Tony Quach and Zane Brown won for the Green Horns.

•Exeter RSL Green 6, Works Navy 6. Chris Reid won for Exeter and Steve Collins for Navy.

THIS WEEK'S MATCHES:

Wednesday, A reserve: Green v Amber, Navy v Green Horns, at the Works Club. Launceston RSL White v Exeter RSL at Launceston RSL Thursday. Works Red has the bye.

Thursday, A grade: Exeter RSL v RSL Grey at Exeter RSL , Black v Gold, Devils v Blue, at the Works Club. Works Raiders have the bye.
