Billiards finals: The finals of the Northern Tasmanian Billiards Championship are being played at the Launceston Working Men's Club today. Defending champion Graeme Pickett is under pressure from David Bates, who is the top ranked player in Northern interclub billiards competition. Bates is playing the better at the moment and will start favourite. The quarter-finals start at 10am, the semi-finals at noon and the final is at 2pm over two hours. Last year's runner-up Peter Donati is seeded No.2 but is expected to struggle to get over Bates to make the final.
