Works Green flourishing

WORKS Green, the reigning billiards roster premier, remains on track to win back-to- back titles after a 4-0 drubbing of Works Blue.

It moves to second outright on the ladder and will play Black in the match next week, when handicaps will play a vital role.

Exeter RSL was the other big winner, winning 3-1 at Longford RSL. Exeter moves to third and could still get the double chance, needing to win against Navy next week, to play Green for second spot in the final round.

Works Red moved above Longford RSL with a 3-1 win against the Flaming Devils, who dropped a place to fifth. Josh Rainbow, the league's youngest player and still in the running for the consistency award, was Devils' only winner, scoring an exciting one- point win over Peter Seaman.

The other match resulted in 2-2 draw between Works Black and Works Navy.

The fight for the consistency trophy, which is determined on a percentage of wins over losses, is down to just five players. Only two can pass David Bates, who has 11 wins from 13 matches, and Bruce Lockley, who this week dropped to third with 10 wins from 14.
