The Northern Billiards team of David Bates, Graeme Pickett, Peter Donati, Roydyn Bishop, Keith Coomber and Rex Swain easily defended the Doug Salter Shield, 50 up Billiards, at the Works Club over the weekend. North won 21 matches, North West 9 and South 7.
David Bates, Graeme Pickett, Roydyn Bishop and Bob Boucher (NW) all won four matches,
David Bates, 64 points, was the best player in cues 1 and 2, making a record break, under this format, of 52. Roydyn Bishop, 48 points, won best player cues 3 and 4, Bob Boucher, 48 points, winning cues 5 and 6. Points are awarded for match wins, frame wins and breaks, 20-30, 31-40, 41 and better.

Interclub Snooker
Works Raiders made it “back to back” 4 nil wins, completing a whitewash 8 frames to nil win over Works Blue in their match last week. Barry Glover, Harley Stebbings, Alan Armitage and Keith Coomber all won 2-0.
Launceston RSL Grey won 3-1 against Works Gold, Robin McEnnulty 2-1, David Sheppard 2-0 and Paul Zoon 2-0 won for RSL, Steve Leary 2-1 was Gold’s only winner.
At the Exeter Club the home side won 3-1 against The Flaming Devils, Gary Bakker, Adam Bindoff and Lloyd Rogers all won 2-0 for Exeter, Heath Rainbow scored 2-1 for the Devils.
