The Northern Association congratulates Gerrad Wicks from Devonport, who was elected President of the State Billiards and Snooker Association, at their AGM, held in Launceston over the weekend. Wicks who is the President of the NW Association, is well known as a snooker and 8ball player takes over from Andrew Fisher of Penguin who stepped down due to business commitments. Southe Peter Randall and Robert Higgins retained their positions as Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

Launceston RSL White continues to hold a one point lead at the top of the billiards ladder, this week beating Works Green 3-1. Adrian White, Wayne Purdon and Dennis Collins winning for RSL, Lee Morcom was Greens only winner.

Works Raiders also won to stay at second on the ladder,  beating Works Gold 3-1, Keith Coomber, Harley Stebbings and Barry Glover won for the Raiders. John Fraser scored for Gold.

Exeter Social Club won its first match for the season, downing The Flaming Devils 3-1 at Exeter, Rex Swain, Derek Peart and Adam Bindoff was Exeter’s winners, Roydyn Bishop won for the Devils.

Works blue accounted for Works Navy, 3-1, Graeme Pickett, giving away 390 points, got up to win, also winning was Ethan Brown and Peter Donati. Ray Skinner  won for the Navy team.

Works Black put their season back on track, winning 3-1 against Works Red, David Bates made up 400 points to win his match, Bruce Lockley and Andrew Saltmarsh also won for Black. Peter Seaman scored for the Red team.
