The 2012 season is set to start on Thursday April 26th for Thursday night and Wednesday May 2nd for the Wednesday night competition

Rosters will be posted on the web site during this week and delivered to the LWC on Saturday April 21st

John Williams Shield 2012

The North-West team won the 2012 John Wiliams Shield, played at the Launceston Workers Club on June 16th and 17th, the North-West team won what has been the closest shiled contetsted since the new format of players playing 2 area opponents in the best of 3 frame game format with the event going down to the last mach of the tournament, which was played betwen David Woodward (North-West and Luke Wallace (South), with the frames being 1 / 1 and both players having several shots on the black ball in the 3rd frame, David Woodward prevailed to bring home the shield for the North-West

A truely great wekend of snooker for all concerned with thanks to the NTB&SA for the running of the tournament and the Launceston Workers Club for the venue and service

North win the 2012 Doug Salter Shield

(L-R) David Bates, Graeme Pickett, Peter Donati, Roydyn Bishop, Rex Swain, Keith Coomber

Played at the Launceston Workers Club on May 5th and the 6th, the Northern team consisting of David Bates, Graeme Picket, Peter Donati (Captain), Roydyn Bishop, Keith Coomber and Rex Swain were too strong for the visting teams from the South and the North-West. The North won 20 matches, North-West 9 and the South 7

David Bates won the best player in Cues 1 and 2 amassing 64 points, Roydyn Bishop in cues 3 and 4 with 48 points and Bob Boucher from the North-West in cues 5 and 6 wih 48 points, David Bates also scored the highest break in the 50up Billiard format making a 52 break

Team Nomination forms are on the board at the LWC with nominations closing Tuesday 10th April

A Grade: 4 Players Per Team, playing Best of 3 Frames

A Reserve: 6 Players Per Team, playing 2 Frames
