The 2010/2011 Billiards Roster (400 up from handicap)

Launceston RSL White continues to head the billiards ladder, this week aided by the Black team conceding two forfeits. Greg Williams was RSL’s the only winner, with captain Adrian White losing to Black’s David Bates.

Works Raiders stay at second, just one point adrift, beating Works Navy 3-1, in some very close matches, Lionel Young continued his good form, as did Keith Coomber and Barry Glover. Alan Legg  scored for Navy.

Works Gold had an easy win over Exeter Social Club, Gold’s winners were, John Fraser who is having a good season, John Stevenson and Gary Bjarnoe-Elliott. Rex Swain was Exeter’s only winner.

Works blue accounted for Red, 3-1, Graeme Pickett, giving away 390 points, as well as Zane and Ethan Brown. Bob Cain won for the Red team.

Works Green put their season back on track, winning 3-1 against he Flaming Devils, Glen Johansen, Lee Morcom and Dean Wilson were Green’s winners, Devil’s Roydyn Bishop overcame George Zammit in the closest match of the round, winning by just five points.

Australian Under 18 Eightball Championships

Cale Barrett and Stephen Kaine both made the Australian under 18 eightball team to compete at the World 8ball championships in Blackpool, England in June, Cale will now have to decide if he takes the position in the junior team or plays for the men’s team after being called upon to play due to some withdrawals from that team

Cale has been selected in position number 4 in the Australian junior team and Stephen position number 6 after he topped the player stats on the team’s day at the championships

The whole Tasmanian junior team lead by team manager Cyril Triffitt had a solid nationals with individual players having some good results and the team finishing in fourth position on the teams day, full results from the championships can be found at www.junior8ball.com

Northern Tasmanian Billiards & Snooker Annual General Meeting will be held at the Works Club, 66 Elizabeth Street, Launceston on Thursday night the 16th. February, at 6.30pm. A big rollup would be appreciated.
