Raiders in good win over 2010 premier

NEW A grade team Works Raiders silenced the sceptics with a 3-1 win over last year's minor premier Works Black.

Raiders, comprising Wednesday night stalwarts Garry Glover and Alan Armitage, together with Keith Coomber and Lionel Young, returning to snooker after a four year break, won comfortably winning seven frames to three.

In the Wednesday night A reserve competition the former Longford team, now playing out of the Launceston RSL, showed it would not be fazed by the venue change winning easily, 10 frames to 2 against Works Navy.

Greg Williams marked the occasion with a 43 break, captain Adrian White knocked in a 32.

Newcomers Works Green Horns found it tough going against Works Green, going down 8-4. Works Red was the other winner scoring 7-5 against last year's premier Works Amber.

Works Gold Flaming Devils easily accounted for Exeter Black 3-1.
